When calculating power and sample size, what value should be placed in the error std deviation box?

The Error Std Dev value is the same thing as the RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error) for a model. It is an estimate for the standard deviation of the residuals. This parameter is your sigma, as given in the Power Details output from a Fit Model analysis. This value can be calculated from previous data that you have collected.
